19th September 2022:Opening Ceremony

I was not able to attend the ceremony. Here I shared some glimpses from my colleague Jhee Barad's blog.

The ceremony began with the University song and welcoming of the honorable guest. There was a wonderful dance performance by the differently abled students of K.L Institute of Deaf. All the dignitaries gave inspiring and motivational speeches, wishing luck to all the participants of the Youth festival.

Saffen Hasan sir aptly talked about today's generation noting them to be a confused generation as this generation has lots of options in every field and everything. He guided me to follow his inspiration and to stay connected to own roots, family, to the institute the one who helped me to grow.

Abhishek Jain talked about the importance of cultural activities and the importance of Youth festivals. He is also the one who grew from the stage of the Youth Festival. Stages help students to have instant ideas, increasing their spontaneity. He ended his speech by saying participation is important and the result is secondary. Standing on stage is also an achievement.

Here is the video recording of the opening ceremony.

Day 2 - 20 September 2022

ShortFilm at the Department of English (Shree Harindra Dave Sahitya Manch):

This event is the first time organized at our University. There were only seven entries, per event five participants were allowed.

1. Magic Box

This short film is based on a feminist angle. How women who suffered from domestic violence prepare themselves the very next day as very normal by using Makeup Box. The title 'Makeup Box' is given ironically to present another meaning which is beyond the word 'Makeup' itself. The cinematography was quite well done with the help of props like silences and the camera focusing on 'Makeup Box'.

2. Zamku

This film again can be read from a feminist perspective. Starting story was gone in a dream sequence while the reality of women in present is different. There can be a stage when perhaps the domestic women have their violent mood but they realize it through their dreams only. There is still the patriarchal structure ruling women's dreams.

3. Three:
This film talked about the mental disorder of a girl student who suffered from Dissociative Identity Disorder and awareness about to keep supporting this kind of person who suffered from such emotional and mental pain.

4. Bhavnagar:
There were no such dialogues in this short film but the cinematography was well planned through Dron shoots and music over.

5. Swatantrata no Sangram
This short film is more like a documentary. There were only images and write-ups about the Indian freedom fighters, no characters, and no cinematography.

6. Maharajshree

Maharaja Kumarsinhji became among the first of the Indian monarchs to accede to the Dominion of India in 1947. He merged Bhavnagar into the state of Kathiawad in 1948. This short film is based on their highness and dedication towards giving their whole monarch for the nation. The unique style of cinematography is that the characters' faces were not in the frame, through dialogues and body gestures they presented the story. As per the Judges' evaluation, they made one mistake about the respected people's lifestyle and in which kind of houses they lived, in the shot while you going to make a film on a historical or respected person of the history, you should have the reading of their background life and their living life.

7. FACK it till you MAKE it:
This short film is about the political agenda and their use of media and the corporate world for their own benefit to hide their evil personality among the common people. The basic tone was about the 'Post-Truth' era.

Lok Vadya Vrinda- organized in the AmphiTheater (Shree Mahendrabhai Meghani Mukhyamanch)

Skit- organized in Atal Auditorium (Vinodbhai Amlani Natyamanch)

Performance:1  Today's world crisis with the reference to Ravan Dahan. (the happenings on the Earth like the Ukraine-Russia war, sold media, elections, male domination, and women's situation.)

Women's education connects with the current time and some events, Rape cases, and women abuse(Rabiya case, Grisham case of Surat.).

Performance: 3(Wit, parody,  farce, satire Satire on Education System)

Performance: 4 (8)  Title of the skit was Why? Today life exaggeration,
Death of Humanity Insaniyat ke nam humne Bars manai. - satirize religion in education; Schools and machine makers; students as machines.
